Bleach Tee

Now that Christmas is over, I can now share some of my DIY gifts! My youngest sister loves The Big Bang Theory. For one of her gifts I made a bleach tee with the "Soft Kitty" song lyrics.

First, I slipped a shirt I bought on clearance at the Gap on the middle shelf of my IKEA coffee table. I'm not using it, so I might as well do something with it.

I used a laundry pen to outline the lyrics to the song, as well as a kitten on the pocket.

I couldn't find a bleach pen anywhere! So I ended up using a q-tip to apply the bleach over the writing.

After I traced all of the writing, I let the bleach set for a while. The longer you let the bleach set, the lighter the writing will be.

Rinse out the bleach and let the shirt dry.

This was a super easy gift to create and give. It was scream worthy, therefore I success in my book!

Guinness Chili

Have you missed me? I've been in the process of moving. I don't like moving, it's a lot of work. However, I am excited to begin this new chapter of my life.

Anyway, when fighting a cold, I only crave two things: soup and juice. I love chili because it is hearty and can be made quickly.

First, brown the ground beef.

While the beef is browning, add diced onions and garlic to the pan, seasoning the beef.

Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, white kidney beans, and tomato paste to the crock pot. Season with cayenne pepper, garlic powder, oregano, salt and pepper.

Pour 11 ounces of Guinness to the pot and pour the rest in a glass for yourself.

Mix in the beef, onions, and garlic.

For spice I added diced dried pasilla pepper and one diced habanero pepper. Like I mentioned, I currently cannot taste anything that doesn't have spice.

I let mine simmer in the crock pot for a little over two hours, stirring occasionally.

Enjoy!

Snowman Poop

I saw this cute idea on Pinterest here, and I figured it would be the perfect small gift for my Girl Scouts this year!

First, I cut silver hologram paper to fit around the tic-tac pack, with an extra 3/4 inch to allow for the side fold. Second I stamped a snowman and snowflakes on white sparkle paper and glued it to the hologram paper.

All folded up! I used a clothespin to make straight folds.

On the inside of the paper, I used Mod Podge to adhere ribbon to the card stock.

On the side where the poem is going I glued red card stock.

"Heard you've been naughty, so here's the scoop: all you're getting for Christmas is Snowman Poop!"

Ready for delivery! Such a cute and fun idea for a small gift this holiday season!

Ornament Swap 2012

TutusandTeaParties

I signed up for an Ornament Swap through Tutus and Tea Parties. I signed up last minute when Kim from Painesville, Ohio was left without a partner! I was so excited to participate!

Using a Styrofoam ball, punch flowers out of glitter paper, and sewing pins- I made this fun glittery ornament. I really wanted to imitate the look of snow. I also made others in silver and hot pink!

These are the gorgeous ornaments Kim sent me! I'm so excited to move this weekend so I can set up our little tree and put these cuties on display!
