Thankful Challenge: Thankful for Little Red

Little Red, as I call her, is the girl I have been nannying for over 3 years. Her young nature gives a fresh perspective on life, as well as plenty of laughter. Over the past years she has become one of my best friends. I am lucky and thankful to love what I do, and look forward to work everyday. Red is wise beyond her years and her thirst for knowledge inspires me to grow. I am thankful to have such breath of fresh air in my life.

Thankful Challenge: Thankful for my Brownies

This is my third year being the troop leader for Little Red's Girl Scout Troop. While they often test my patience and my own values, I am truly thankful for the impact these 14 girls have on my everyday life. They challenge me creatively, mentally, and emotionally, in the best possible ways.

At yesterday's field trip to the Denver Art Museum, I was inspired by their creativity, and willingness to learn about art and themselves. We spent the afternoon painting, creating African, Western, and Oceanic art. They continually shock me with their insight about community, and world issues. Children at this age are smarter than they are given credit for. I am lucky to have the influence of 14 second graders in my life.

Thankful Challenge: Thankful for Colorado

Everyday I am thankful for the natural beauty that Colorado possesses. There isn't a day that my breath isn't taken away by the majesty of the mountains and the mysteries they contain. I am so lucky to live in Colorado. I am thankful for: the changing of seasons, and the hope it brings; the various temperatures; the year round sunshine.

Thankful Challenge: Thankful for [Furry] Family

I have had the rare opportunity to have both Seamus and Dante under the same roof this weekend. While they get jealous of each other, they have finally learned to get along, or at least tolerate each other. This weekend has made me appreciate both of my dogs in all of their cuddly glory. Dogs really are the best therapy.

Thankful Challenge: Thankful for Moments

It snowed yesterday here in Denver. Not much, but enough to make our morning walk slippery. I had the unique opportunity of taking both Seamus and Dante out this morning. I am thankful for the morning cold and the walk with the dogs and my mom. The snow brings beauty this time of year, especially as autumn refuses to leave so early.

The rest of the day will be spent with a mug of coffee; sewing and crocheting by the fireplace.

Happy Sunday!

Thankful Challenge: Thankful Memories

Marilyn over at The ArtsyGirl Connection had the brilliant idea of dedicating November to reflection and gratitude by simply giving thanks within ten different posts.

The ArtsyGirl Connection

I am thankful for the memories have have gained good and bad, that provided fear and growth. I am thankful for my memories of traveling with friends, memories of laughter, memories of reflection, memories of creativity, and memories of love.
